    Austin Industrial, Inc. is a leading General Contractor that provides construction, maintenance, turnaround and plant services within the oil, gas, chemical, power and manufacturing industries.  We are currently seeking an experienced Craft Recruiter

     

    This position will report to the Employment Manager. The Craft Recruiter will assist in the coordination and administration of hiring skilled craftsmen, including outreach programs, job postings, screening resumes/job applications, and performing interviews, administering craft tests, serving as the primary point-of-contact for candidates and Site Managers throughout the recruiting process.

     

    Analyzes craft and technical personnel needs for current projects through discussions with operations management, project managers and superintendents. Based on forecasted projections and immediate manpower needs, the Craft Recruiter prepares and implements recruitment programs for the assigned discipline and ensures efficient utilization of current craft employees. The Craft Recruiter will assist operations management with short and long-term craft planning of needed resources.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyzes information provided on prospective employee applications, conducts personal interviews, and determines suitability for employment. When applicants are determined to be qualified, performs additional background reference investigation (i.e., verification of licenses/certifications, reference checks and work history, etc.) to obtain adequate information on which to base a hiring decision.
    • Employs proper interviewing and hiring processes to ensure adherence to all equal employment opportunity (EEO) legislation, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other government compliance requirements.
    • Maintains necessary files covering applications, interviews, and hiring procedures.
    • Represents the company at conferences, associations, job fairs, and other networking events to build relationships, promote the company, and develop an understanding of the regional employment market.
    • Monitors and remains current with industry trends and best practices in all aspects of craft recruiting and makes recommendations for new or improved practices.

    Qualifications

    Essential Qualifications:

    • The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience assisting with or recruiting craft professionals in the industrial construction market with two years of experience using applicant tracking system or comparable database experience
    • 4-year degree preferred or combined higher education with work experience considered
    • Must be able to work independently with a high degree of customer service
    • Ability to work with a diverse workforce
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Must be willing and able to travel up to 25%
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license
    • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
    • Must be willing to work overtime including weekends

    Valued but not required qualifications:

    • Previous high volume recruiting experience
    • Advanced technical knowledge of craft positions in Construction/midstream/downstream environments.
    • Working knowledge of iCIMS applicant tracking system is preferred
    • Preferred bi-lingual language in Spanish & English
